Club Captain

John Thompson, CSFC Club Captain and Chairman of Selectors
It was a great honour to pick up the SAL Hospitality Award, on behalf of the club, at the recent SAL dinner. This is the first time that our club has received the award.It illustrates the great progress we have made on the social front. On the soccer side I hope this season is a successful one and that we see the first team return to the top division,where they belong.
Once again we are fortunate to field eight teams on Saturdays and a vets team on the occasional Sunday. This reflects the efforts made not only by the players but also with the consistent support of an often unsung executive committee. We are indeed lucky to possess such a loyal team of committee members with a firm commitment to the ongoing progress of the club.
As someone who has played in all the sides throughout my CSFC ’career’, I am extremely proud of this achievement. There is without doubt a fantastic team spirit within the club which has been reflected on the pitch. I am sure that this will continue next season.
